My name is James Craig and I'm the person behind Gut Instinct.  Since 2000 I've been learning about and creating small games as well as maintaining my website.

From Hobby to Profession to Hobby Again

In 2003, I graduated from college and ended up getting a job as a programmer at a small game company. And like many people working in the industry, I found that I couldn't stand it. Between the hectic hours and some of the more "passionate" individuals, I knew it was time to move on. Since then I've continued to learn about game programming and have worked in my free time to develop various games, engines, and other projects that I've found interesting.

Why Gut Instinct?

This site is dedicated to helping hobbyist and independant game developers learn about techniques, technologies, and skills that can be used to help them.
